Back to Blogging!

Hi all, stranger Jess here! I feel a re-introduction is in order, as I haven’t posted anything on my beloved blog for nearly 3 years. Much has happened, and a lot of which I believe is worth sharing!

But before I get into the details of what interesting events have happened in my world, I’ll just quickly remind you guys of some details about me. My name is Jessica Chann, I am from Seattle, Washington, and I love to travel! A rationally basic statement, but that’s all you need to know thus far of this soon-to-be no longer, “stranger.”

I launched this blog back in mid-2014, to document my year abroad in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and if you would like to know about my spectacular experience in what I deem to be the most marvelous country on Earth, feel free to read my previous posts on the subject matter!

One of the first nights of one of the best year of my life. (Renascença Clube, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brasil)

After my year abroad in Brazil, I returned back to the States, but shortly after I moved to Cambodia to do a year of teaching English (TESL) and volunteer work (2015-2016). Now that was a very significant year of my life, one of which still has a great impact on me in the current time, as I am til this day, with the man I fell in love with in Cambodia! And also that year helped me solidify my choice of career, and broadened my perspective of the human condition (whatever that means!).

Stay tuned for more posts from my experience living & working in S.E. Asia!

So after my year in Cambodia ended in July, 2016, once again, I returned back to the States. My plans for summer 2016 that were made prior to my departure to Cambodia in 2015, was to spend a month back in Brazil with my friends and family, and to attend some of the Rio 2016 Summer Games Olympics, but those plans had changed! I ended up spending 5 of that summer’s weeks, experiencing the love of my life’s home country of Denmark. After that summer, I returned to Seattle to attend my University. Since then, I haven’t stopped traveling and now I have finally woken up and realized my need and love of blogging, so I hope to continuously share my stories with you all!

Some of my travels from the past few years

Thanks for reading, and until the next post!

Beijos,
Jess

Fun fact: If you put some Viagra in a vase, it will make flowers stand up straight for a week beyond when they would normally wilt.
